The theme of the 2016 symposium was Aviation. The almost forgotten child of the TU/e. All the more reason for a symposium to be organized with this theme. The symposium did not only focus on standard aircrafts, but also on the new fighter jets from the Royal Dutch Airforce, composites used to build commercial airplanes and on techniques to counter drones. This year’s end speaker was Carlos Davila from NASA, who talked about the use of drones in space. During his lecture he talked about the NASA facility he works at and how NASA is using drones to explore Mars
