Boskalis is a leading contractor in the world of dredging, inland infra, towage, salvage and offshore energy. Through acquisitions of Smit, Dockwise and recently Fairmount, the offshore energy division has grown substantially and offers versatile solutions to the offshore oil and gas as well as renewables industry. By using a diverse fleet of vessels and equipment, Boskalis executes projects in an effective way. Often tailor made equipment or vessel conversions are required to improve the effectiveness of our assets. Compensating motions to allow working in higher sea states could for example improve the workability of a vessel, resulting in more uptime and on-time delivery of the project. More efficient handling of large equipment for a windfarm will reduce the turnaround of a repeat operation significantly and as a result a more cost effective solution for the project. In the presentation an overview of some solutions where the joint effort of Naval Architects and Mechanical Engineers has resulted in very effective projects in the spirit of “Hollands Glory” at its best.
