The Simon Stevin Symposium of 2015 had Offshore technologies as its main topic. The offshore industry is mostly about drilling oil, wind energy and aquaculture. This industry is relatively unknown in Eindhoven, this symposium was the perfect chance to come into contact with this industry. Other topics that were talked about during this Symposium were for example dredging and removing out of use oil platforms. The final lecture was given by Arun Duggal from SOFEC. Durig his lecture he talked about the worlds first arctic floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) project at Terra Nova.
