VDL Groep is an international industrial family-owned company with 95 operating companies, spread over 20 countries, with more than 16,000 employees.
VDL is active in the automotive industry in different ways. With VDL Nedcar in Born VDL is the only large car manufacturer in the Netherlands for third parties. For our customer BMW Group we produce the MINI Hatch, MINI Cabrio, MINI Countryman, MINI Countryman Plug-In Electric Vehicle and the BMW X1. The electrification of heavy-duty mobility is part of our strategy for smart mobility, including autonomous driving and connectivity. We have a leading position in Europe in the field of electric buses, infrastructure, energy supply systems, and automated guided vehicles (AGV). Some examples are the delivery of 43 electric buses for the Eindhoven region, 100 electric buses for the Amsterdam region, the development of the VDL e-truck and AGV’s for ECT in the harbor of Rotterdam and for chemical industry company BASF.
