Van Abbemuseum

The Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven is one of the first public museums for contemporary art to be established in Europe. The museum’s collection of around 2700 works of art includes key works and archives by Joseph Beuys, Marc Chagall, René Daniëls, Marlene Dumas, Sheela Gowda, Patricia Kaersenhout, Gülsün Karamustafa, Iris Kensmil, Oskar Kokoschka, John Körmeling, El Lissitzky, Paul McCarthy, Pablo Picasso, Martha Rosler, and Lidwien van de Ven. The museum has an experimental approach towards art’s role in society. Openness, hospitality and knowledge exchange are important to Van Abbemuseum.

All this art creates an atmosphere of creative thinking and inspiration, which will result in new fresh ideas, especially while working on the cases!

Karel1 Café

The Karel1 Café is located in the same building as Van Abbemuseum. After enjoying the art in the museum, you can go to this café and converse about the impressions caused by the experience of art while enjoying a great cup of coffee. The café also has a nice view of the Dommel, something all TU/e Mechanical Engineers will enjoy. The café is also accessible without entering the museum, so you can always enjoy that nice coffee!
